After a full life in which he found great success as a pitcher, as a pilot and as one of the country's most prominent plaintiff's attorneys out of his office in Peoria, Illinois, Frederick Walton Allen, 97, died at his home on Sunday, January 24, 2021, surrounded by his devoted family.

The Secretary of State’s office is looking for an attorney to serve as assistant general counsel in the Springfield office advising the vehicle services department. The duties of this position include drafting legislation and administrative rules, advising the department regarding compliance with existing laws and regulations, answering questions regarding the licensing of vehicle dealerships, and participating in formulating policies for the operations of the department. The attorney will also assist the personnel department in collective bargaining agreements and litigation concerning personnel actions, and represents the Office of the Secretary of State at arbitration proceedings.

Members of the ISBA will elect a third vice president (outside Cook County) and one seat each for the following Board of Governors seats: Area 1 (Circuit 18), Area 6 (Circuits 7, 8, and 9), and Area 8 (Circuits 3 and 20). There is also one Board of Governors seat in Cook County. There are 26 open seats for Cook County Assembly.

Donald M. Tennant was born on Oct. 2, 1931, in Troy, N.Y., to Freda (Haas) and John Tennant. At two weeks of age, the family moved to Chicago and then to Milwaukee, Wis. He married the love of his life of 67 years, Nancy C. Estaque, when they eloped to Walnut Ridge, Ark., on July 25, 1953.
