John L. “Jack” Flynn passed away peacefully on April 7 in Fort Lauderdale, FL following complications from a fall. A lifelong resident of Evanston, IL, he married Gene Flynn (nee Schaefer) 51 years ago--and considered this his best decision ever. He was the proud father of John, also a lawyer, and father-in-law of Karin, as well as the devoted Granddad of Sofia and Isabel. He was the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jack was pre-deceased by his younger brothers Donald G. and Gary J..
Born December 23, 1930 to Margaret and John J. Flynn, Jack was a graduate of Loyola Academy and Northwestern University schools of Business and Law. While at Northwestern he joined Sigma Nu Fraternity where he formed many lifetime friendships. He later served in the US Army in GA where he taught military law and was fortunate enough to serve as a marshall for the US Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta. An avid lifelong golfer, he would later spend countless hours trying to figure out the game, most of them at Evanston Golf Club.

John Thomas Rosch, a former Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission and Director of its Bureau of Consumer Protection, died on March 30, 2016, in Lake Forest, Illinois.
While at the Commission, he helped to revitalize its litigation efforts, particularly in relation to merger enforcement. Throughout his career, he was one of the preeminent practitioners in the areas of antitrust and trade regulation law and was lead counsel in more than 100 federal and state court antitrust cases. He won summary judgements for major corporations in the automobile, transportation, pharmaceutical, publishing and consumer electronics industries, among others.

Albert L. Hall, Jr., 89, of Kenosha, WI, formerly of Waukegan, IL, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha.
Born in Chicago on June 17, 1926, he was the son of Albert L. and Oprah (Staratt) Hall, Sr. He was raised in Waukegan and graduated from Lake Forest Academy, University of Illinois and Northwestern Law School. He served with the US Navy in WWII. Albert was an attorney with his father's law firm, founded in 1922. After retiring, he served as " of counsel" for the Bollman, Lesser & Leetrey law firm in Lake Forest. He enjoyed golf, tennis, fishing, bridge, coin collecting and wood carving. Club memberships included Waukgean-North Chicago Chamber of Commerce, City Club, Lake County Coin Club, Waukegan Community Players, ACLU, Glen Flora Country Club, the Lake County Bar Association, and LFFB and PP Group.

The Illinois Supreme Court will take its work on the road in May, when it will hear oral arguments at Benedictine University in Lisle.
The one-day change of venue is part of the Court's and Chief Justice Rita B. Garman's initiative to bring the Court to the people it serves and its continuing goal for greater transparency in the judicial process.
The Supreme Court will hear arguments in two cases starting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Benedictine University's Daniel L. Goodwin Hall of Business, located at 5700 College Road in Lisle.

People reporting for jury service at the Rolling Meadows courthouse in the Circuit Court of Cook County will now have Wi-Fi access while they wait to find out if they will be considered to serve as jurors for a trial, Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans announced today.
Prospective jurors already have Wi-Fi access in the Richard J. Daley Center, the Leighton Criminal Court Building and the courthouse in Markham.
The Circuit Court is working with the Cook County Bureau of Technology to bring Wi-Fi to the jury assembly rooms at the Skokie, Maywood and Bridgeview courthouses.

The names of 13 new associate judges, selected in a vote of Cook County Circuit Court judges, were announced Tuesday by Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.
Ballots listing the names of 26 finalists, chosen from 283 candidates, were distributed to 249 circuit judges. Ballots were due April 15, 2016.
The Alliance of Bar Associations and the Chicago Bar Association evaluated the candidates. Each candidate was interviewed by a nine member nominating committee, comprised of Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans of the Cook County Circuit Court and eight presiding judges.
