Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any jurisdiction), and have at least two years post-J.D. experience in bankruptcy practice. U.S. citizenship is required.

Judge Robert E. Ginsberg, age 73, died March 17, 2018. Judge Ginsberg was a retired United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, where he served for 18 years. Previously, he was a professor at DePaul University Washington College of Law. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gail Ginsberg, his loving daughters, Deborah and Dana Ginsberg, grandchildren, David Ginsberg and Aurora Buntain, sister, Marion Levine, brothers-in-law, Bruce Cohen and Irwin Muskat, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, close friends and former colleagues.
