The International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) is coming to Loyola University School of Law in Chicago this March for its 9th Annual World Mediation Congress, March 6-7, followed immediately by its 17th Annual International Law School Mediation Tournament, March 8-10, co-sponsored by the Illinois State Bar Association.
Volunteers are needed for the 2018 ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational, which is co-administered by the ISBA and the Illinois Trial Team of the University of Illinois. It will be held at the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign on March 24-25.
This program provides an opportunity for students to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before the Illinois Courts. Participating students gain a better understanding of the justice system and improve their knowledge, skills, and ability to articulate in a reasoned, thoughtful manner.
ISBA hosted a New Members Welcome Reception at the Chicago Regional Office on Friday, Jan. 19, to welcome Illinois' newest lawyers to the association and profession. Newly-minted attorneys in attendance reunited with old classmates, networked and mingled with other ISBA lawyers, and spoke to staff about how ISBA can help them as they begin to navigate the legal field as working professionals.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 8, to join the Illinois Bar Foundation at the hottest show around. Lawyer-led bands will be rocking out for justice at Illinois Lawyers Rock, a fundraiser event that raises money to ensure access to justice to support juvenile justice initiatives through the Foundation's M. Denny Hassakis Fund. Doors at Lincoln Hall in Chicago open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars for Feb. 9, when the ISBA Young Lawyers Division will host its annual speed networking event followed by a wine tasting in Chicago.
Starting at 3:30, speed networking participants will meet and greet other lawyers and legal professionals to build professional and social networks in an event that combines concepts from speed dating and business networking. Refreshments will be served.
At 5:30, attendees can then move downstairs to the ISBA Mutual Office to enjoy an evening of tasting a variety of wines and cheese. This events proceeds will benefit the YLD Children’s Assistance Fund.

The ISBA Young Lawyers Division hosted its annual holiday party on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Exchequer Restaurant & Pub in Chicago. All proceeds went to the Illinois Bar Foundation YLD’s Children’s Assistance Fund.
