David D. Koski, 72, of Rockford went up to heaven on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Born August 8, 1944, in DeKalb, IL to Carl and Dora (Mosher) Koski. David married his sweetie, Gail Sherven, on December 15, 1973. Together, they raised four kids, of whom he was immensely proud, Lisa (Dawn) Koski of Janesville, WI, John (Christy) Koski of Wichita Falls, TX, Katie (Gordie) Johnson of Roscoe, IL and Daniel (Paola) Koski currently of Tirana, Albania.

Gregory Andrew Brown, 47, of Sycamore completed his life story on September 11, 2016 after a fierce nine-month battle with cancer.
Greg entered the world in Newport News, Virginia on October 2, 1968, son of Virginia and Ralph Brown. He spent much of his childhood living abroad in Spain, relocating for a short time to Beaumont, Texas before moving to Barrington, Illinois after finishing middle school. He attended Barrington High School where he met his future wife Donna and proceeded to follow her to the University of Illinois (though he might tell a slightly different version of the story). After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, he headed to DeKalb where he attended law school at Northern Illinois University. He graduated in 1993 and was sworn into the Illinois Bar the same year. -

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas L. Kilbride is seeking public comment on three attorneys who have applied to fill a resident Circuit Court vacancy in Whiteside County in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.
The vacancy will be created upon Circuit Judge John L. Hauptman's retirement, effective December 5, 2016. Under the Illinois Constitution, judicial vacancies are filled by Supreme Court appointment. Justice Kilbride uses an extensive application, evaluation and interview process to make recommendations to the full Court for judicial vacancies in the Third Judicial District.
The three attorneys who have applied to fill the vacancy are Colleen M. Buckwalter of Morrison, Trish A. Joyce of Sterling, and Associate Judge William S. McNeal of Morrison.

Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, has announced that the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Clayton L. Lindsey as an associate judge of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Lindsey received his undergraduate degree in 1981 from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and his Juris Doctor in 1984 from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Mr. Lindsey is currently affiliated with WilliamsMcCarthy LLP in Oregon, IL.

The Honorable Leonard J. Wojtecki, 69, grew up in Cary, IL., passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 surrounded by his family at home. He was born July 6, 1947 in Chicago, IL. the son of Leonard and June (Larsen) Wojtecki. He was united in marriage to Frances Robertson on August 23, 1969 in Cary, IL.
Judge Wojtecki graduated from Marquette University in 1969 and went on to earn his law degree from John Marshall Law School, Chicago, IL in 1976. Right out of law school, he joined the Cook County State's Attorney's office as a prosecutor. He then moved to private practice as a trial attorney in Aurora, IL. He also served as an assistant public defender in Kendall County before his appointment as an associate judge in the 16th Judicial Circuit in August 2000 retiring from the bench in July 2015.

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas L. Kilbride has announced an application process for appointment to a resident Circuit Court vacancy in Whiteside County in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.
The vacancy will be created by Circuit Judge John L. Hauptman's retirement, effective December 5, 2016. Judge Hauptman has been a judge since 1997, and currently serves as the resident judge at the Whiteside County Courthouse in Morrison.

Northern Illinois University College of Law is hosting a reception to honor ISBA President and NIU Law alumnus Vincent F. Cornelius (’89). Cornelius, the principal of the Law Offices of Vincent F. Cornelius - with offices in Wheaton and Joliet - concentrates his practice in civil and criminal litigation. A major focus of Cornelius' year as president will be the future of young lawyers and preparing them for the profession.
