George Jacob Lewis, 88, of Quincy, died Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy.
George was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Rushville, to parents Dana Mendel Lewis and Gladys Elizabeth Hersman Lewis. He was raised working on his family's farm in Hersman. He graduated from Brown County High School in Mount Sterling in 1948.

Gregory Michael Tobin, 58, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, following a battle with gastric cancer.
Born Sept. 19, 1960 in Jacksonville, he was the son of William "Bill" Tobin of Grape Vine, Texas, and Patricia "Pat" (Henry) Pinkerton of Jacksonville.
He was an attorney and owner of Pratt and Tobin, PC in Bethalto for 34 years.

Attorney James Bock, Jr., of Glen Carbon, is the new director of the Office for Legal Services and Policy Development for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.
Most recently, Bock was a litigation associate with Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale, P.C. in their Belleville office from 2015 to 2019, where he practiced in Madison and St. Clair counties. Prior to that firm, Bock was an assistant public defender with the Madison County Public Defender’s Office from 2013 to 2015.
