Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law has announced that attorney Lance Ziebell has been elevated to shareholder status at the firm. Lance joined the firm’s Litigation and Employment Law practice groups in 2008.
Over the last eleven years, Ziebell has been a major contributor to the success of the litigation and employment law practice groups.

Based in Chicago, Scotti joined Roetzel in 2015. Scotti previously was a Partner at Freeborn & Peters for 15 years. For over 25 years, he has been representing companies and high-net-worth individuals in business litigation.
W. Joseph "Joe" Gibbs died Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at his home in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Joe was born in Springfield to Ronald and Josephine Gibbs on April 23, 1931. He attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and graduated from Springfield High School in 1949. He went on to attend Regis College in Denver, Colorado. After a two-year stint in the U.S. Army, serving abroad as an intelligence analyst, he continued his education at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Joe graduated from Georgetown School of Law in 1958.
Attorney Jennifer Bunker Skerston has joined the law firm of Reilly Law Office, LLC as partner. As a result of this partnership, the name of the firm will now be Law Offices of Reilly & Skerston, LLC.
James T. Reilly founded Reilly Law Office, LLC in 2006, and the practice has focused on civil and criminal litigation, Social Security disability, and family law. Since joining the firm as an associate in 2017, Skerston has added estate planning and administration to the firm’s areas of practice.

Sheehan returns to MVP after a short stint with a midwest law firm. His focus will be on defending employers and insurance carriers in Illinois workers’ compensation claims, and also defends clients in a variety of civil litigation issues, including insurance bad faith claims, commercial vehicle accidents, and construction litigation. He regularly appears before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and Illinois Court of Appeals on workers’ compensation issues.
Mercer Cook, 88, was born May 31, 1930, in Washington, D.C.
He was a graduate of Dunbar High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College, and received a J.D. from the University of Chicago. After college, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and studied at the Sorbonne in Paris.
