Haskin, Corrigan, Tabis & Parravano P.C. of Wheaton, Illinois is proud to announce that Jeffrey S. Burns has joined the firm.

Mr. Burns has been in practice for 22 years concentrating on Commercial Litigation, Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy.  Prior to joining Haskin, Corrigan, Tabis & Parravano P.C., Mr. Burns was most recently a partner in Crowley Barrett & Karaba, Ltd. of Chicago, IL.

Robert Berghoff, Sr. had a lifelong commitment to making the Beverly community a better place to live, not only for his family but also for his neighbors, his relatives and friends said.

"He had a lot of roots here," said his son, Peter. "But he recognized that anything worth having requires effort to maintain. Early on, he became involved in many of the associations that make it a great place to live."

Berghoff served on the boards of Beverly Area Planning Association, Beverly Improvement Association, the Beverly Arts Center, Morgan Park High School Community Council, the Swedish Covenant Hospital, Smith Senior Living and the Board of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church of America.

Paul Patrow has joined Faegre Baker Daniels’ tax and corporate practices as a partner in Chicago.

Patrow advises business entities on tax strategies during business formation and transactions. He is experienced in acquisitions, dispositions, financings, private equity transactions, and domestic and international joint ventures.

He also represents private equity and hedge fund sponsors in connection with the formation and operation of investment funds and the acquisition and disposition of investments. Additionally, he advises venture capital investors on the tax implications of their investments in operating companies and counsels operating companies on their funding by venture capital and angel investors.

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of a new member, Abad Lopez, to its Labor & Employment Practice Group in the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Dykema, Lopez practiced at Seyfarth Shaw LLP in Chicago.

Lopez focuses his practice on representing management in litigation in federal and state courts and other tribunals throughout the United States. He has represented employers, including multiple Fortune 50 companies, in a wide array of matters, including litigation of wrongful discharge claims, various tort based common law claims, harassment claims, and discrimination and retaliation claims brought pursuant to Title VII, the FMLA, the ADA, the ADEA and various other state and local statutes. Lopez also focuses on defense of complex wage and hour claims, including collective actions under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and class actions under the law of many different states.
