The 42nd Annual Illinois State Bar Association High School Mock Trial Invitational took place on March 15-16, 2025, at the A. Lincoln Commons at Lincoln Land Community College’s Main Campus, 2465 Poorman Drive, Springfield. Fifty high schools throughout Illinois participated.
First place went to College Preparatory School of America from Lombard, who also received the Donna E. Schechter Memorial Law Test Award.
Second place went to Timothy Christian High School from Elmhurst, and Normal West High School received third place.

The bar admission ceremonies for the 282 new attorneys who passed the February 2025 Bar Exam will be held on Wednesday, May 7, in all five judicial districts of Illinois. The First Judicial District ceremony sessions will be held in Chicago at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. with Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Jane Theis, Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr. and First District Appellate Court Justice Rina Van Tine swearing-in candidates. -

Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Jane Theis, Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr. and First District Appellate Court Justice Rina Van Tine will administer the attorney’s oath to 222 new lawyers over two bar admission ceremony sessions on Wednesday, May 7, in the First Judicial District at the Harris Theater located at 205 East Randolph in Chicago. The group is among 282 individuals who will be sworn in and admitted to the practice of law in Illinois during bar admission ceremonies held in the state’s five Supreme Court judicial districts. -

The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of April, 2025, the ISBA helped 1,564 people in need of legal services find lawyers.
