The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Pro Bono Committee is proud to be hosting an online food drive with food banks in three major areas of Illinois. Donations will be distributed to food banks in the Chicagoland area, St. Louis metropolitan area, and Central Illinois area. Virtual donations will be graciously accepted through December 15, 2025. The Chicagoland area food drive will distribute goods throughout Cook County. -

The scam email, which has been reported by multiple members, is designed to look like an official communication from the ISBA. It uses a deceptive email address — robert.craghead@ isba.org.sendcrp.com — that is not affiliated with the ISBA. -

New Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr., grew up in the Chicago Bronzeville neighborhood under challenging circumstances. As recounted in “Ready To Serve,” the Illinois Bar Journal’s December profile of the chief justice, those years “were challenging for his family and especially his mother, a schoolteacher,” Chief Justice Neville says. “But I maintain that those very difficult times made me the kind of person I am. I often say I grew up on the rough side of the mountain,” he says. “But it is pressure that turns coal into diamonds. -

The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of November, 2025, the ISBA helped 942 people in need of legal services find lawyers.
