This spring, the Illinois State Bar Association hosted a forum featuring an all-star slate of speakers who reflected on what women attorneys bring to the table—and the ongoing fight for a seat there. Speakers included three current and two retired Illinois Supreme Court justices and SCOTUSblog cofounder Amy Howe, who has argued more than two dozen cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and has taught courses at Stanford and Harvard law schools. In "Stronger Together," the June Illinois Bar Journal's cover story, Illinois attorney Amelia Buragas, director of the Legal Studies program and Pre-Law Advisor within the Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University, provides a summary of highlights from that day.
