IADC Announces Mark Hansen as President-Elect for 2025-26

CHICAGO – July 30, 2025 – The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) has elected Mark D. Hansen, Senior Associate General Counsel for GROWMARK, Inc., as its President-Elect for 2025-26. The announcement was made at the organization’s 2025 Annual Meeting July 10 in Québec City, Québec, Canada.

The IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.

A member of the IADC for 13 years, Mr. Hansen recently served for three years as the organization’s Vice President of Corporate. During that time, he served as board liaison to the Corporate Counsel, Medical Defense and Health Law, and Environmental and Energy Law committees and to the Corporate Counsel College and Corporate Counsel Training Academy advisory boards. He also served on the Finance Committee and International Corporate Counsel College Advisory Board.

At GROWMARK, Mr. Hansen supervises litigation involving the company and provides legal services to most aspects of the company’s activities. GROWMARK is one of the largest agribusiness operations in North America and is headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois.  

Mr. Hansen previously was a shareholder and director at Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen, P.C., a regional law firm with offices in Illinois and Missouri. While at Heyl Royster, he represented clients in complex litigation, including professional liability, products liability and commercial litigation.

Among Mr. Hansen’s other professional affiliations are the Defense Research Institute, Litigation Counsel of America (In-House Fellow), American Bar Foundation (Fellow), and the Society of Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Hansen received his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Illinois College of Law and his Bachelor of Science (cum laude) from Northern Illinois University.
