Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 150 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- House Bill 4844 amends the Jury Act and the Jury Commission Act to require employers with more than 25 employees to compensate an employee at the employee's regular rate of pay for time that the employee served on jury duty.
- House Bill 5567 creates the Warehouse Worker Protection Act.
- Senate Bill 3709 amends the Limited Liability Company Act to reduce various filing fees payable to the Secretary of State by 50%.
