Continuing Legal Education

Section members receive discounts on section-sponsored CLE programs. During the 2022–23 bar year, the Section sponsored the following programs:

ISBA Central Discussions

ISBA Central communities allows section members to pose questions, answer questions, and share information with fellow section members. Members of the section get free access to the section’s community. Joining any section also grants you access to the Transactional and Litigation communities. Legislation

The Section Council reviewed 4 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:

  • Senate Bill 1491 amends the Business Corporation Act of 1983 to provide that a corporation that has contracts with the State shall include as part of its annual report a list of its professional services suppliers by category. That list shall include the percentage of owners and employees in each category that are women or are members of a minority group.
  • Senate Bill 1501 amends the General Not For Profit Corporation Act of 1986 that provides that in its annual report filed with the Secretary of State, a domestic or foreign corporation shall include the aggregated demographic information of its directors and officers, including race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
