Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission Seeks Law Clerks for Chicago, Springfield Offices

The Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) is seeking law clerks for its Chicago and Springfield offices beginning in the summer of 2020.

Law clerks are eligible to work up to 35 hours per week during the summer months. In the Chicago office only, when school starts in the fall, the ARDC allows law clerks to work approximately 12 to 15 hours per week.

Responsibilities for both positions include conducting legal research and preparing memoranda/pleadings regarding all areas of law for the litigation division of the ARDC, with the potential for a third-year law student with a 711 license to assist in presenting evidence during hearing matters, including depositions and witness testimony, under the supervision of an attorney.

Both positions require a bachelor's degree and the successful completion of the first year of law school. The position pays $15 to $17 per hour.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter with specific information relating to research and writing classes (grade obtained, type of class taken, etc.), resume, and writing sample to: employment@iardc.org
