ARDC Full-Time Litigation Counsel Positions - Chicago

As an agency of the Supreme Court of Illinois, the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) is charged with promoting and protecting the integrity of the legal profession. The ARDC assists the Supreme Court in regulating the legal profession through registering lawyers, conducting education and outreach programs relating to compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct and the effective representation of clients, investigating complaints of lawyer misconduct, prosecuting lawyer disciplinary proceedings, and advocating for remedial action on behalf of victims of lawyer misconduct.

The ARDC reviews thousands of consumer complaints on an annual basis. Such disciplinary matters must be handled fairly and promptly. Currently, the ARDC’s Chicago office has vacancies for two, full-time litigation counsel positions. Litigation Counsel help to facilitate attorney compliance with the rules of professional conduct and, if necessary, prosecute formal disciplinary complaints. Staff lawyers have a diverse and challenging caseload within the context of a fast-paced work environment, balancing the rights of lawyers and protecting the public and the courts. Candidates must be an attorney registered and admitted to practice law in Illinois. Litigation experience preferred.
