Illinois Attorneys Needed for 2Civility’s Anti-Bullying Focus Groups

The ISBA is assisting in a special initiative that focuses on eliminating bullying in the legal profession, led by the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism. The first phase of the initiative was a statewide Survey of Illinois lawyers that received over 6,000 responses—which is believed to be a new record for surveys of lawyers in Illinois.

Now the initiative is moving to the second phase: conducting focus group discussions about experiences with bullying, why bullying occurs, and what we in the legal profession can do to stop it. The ISBA encourages your participation in a focus group, as do other bar associations supporting the Commission’s initiative by reaching out to their members.

The ISBA is helping to identify focus group participants, especially members who practice in Southern and Central Illinois. Each group discussion will take place on Zoom and will take about 1½ hours. Participants will be asked as a condition of participation to keep the discussion confidential. The focus groups will be limited in size to 12 participants. If you have an interest, we suggest that you quickly sign up for the session on December 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
