Ansel as a shareholder of the firm and attorneys Alyx J. Parker and Dane C. Amundson as associates with the law firm. Attorneys Ansel, Parker and Amundson practiced law together as Ansel Law, Ltd. prior to joining Meyer Capel’s litigation department.

A veteran litigator, Marc Ansel, has practiced law continuously in Champaign County, Illinois for over 40 years and is a graduate of both the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois College of Law. Mr. Ansel is a respected trial lawyer concentrating in civil litigation, including complex business and commercial litigation, construction disputes, unfair competition, arbitration, mediation, injury and insurance matters. He is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution, as advocate, arbitrator and mediator. He has handled numerous jury and bench trials, as well as appeals before all Illinois appellate courts, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Federal court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Ansel has also been involved in alternative dispute resolution as an advocate, arbitrator and mediator.

Robert H. Jennetten, 71, of Peoria passed away at 4:36 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Bob was born on Jan. 13, 1945, in Belleville, Ill., to the late Peter and Marie (Wienstroer) Jennetten. He married Suzanne M. Clemens on June 8, 1968, in West Point, Iowa. She survives.

He is also survived by four sons, Peter (Jolie) Jennetten and Robert (Megan) Jennetten, both of Peoria, Joseph Jennetten of Nome, Alaska, and Nathaniel (Alexandra) Jennetten of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Amy (Ali) Brown of Oak Park, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Leo, Gustav, Hal, Abe, Adeline, Amelia, Henry, Jackson and Theodore Jennetten and Bella, Amor, Noble and Immanuel Brown; one brother, John (Judi) Jennetten of Edwardsville, Ill.; and one sister, Donna (Charles) Pruemer of Bruceville, Texas.

Chief Justice Rita B. Garman of the Supreme Court of Illinois has begun an application process for an At-Large Circuit Court vacancy in the Sixth Judicial Circuit.

The vacancy will be created by the retirement of Judge Arnold F. Blockman on September 16, 2016. Judge Blockman has been an At-Large Circuit Judge in the Sixth Judicial Circuit since 1996.

Under the Illinois Constitution, judicial vacancies are filled by Supreme Court appointment. The application process will lead to the final Court approval. Applicants will undergo an evaluation and screening process.

Notice of the vacancy has been posted in the courthouses throughout the Circuit. The application form and instructions may be obtained by visiting the Illinois Supreme Court’s website at www.illinoiscourts.gov and following the instructions in the “Latest News” scroller announcing the Sixth Judicial Circuit vacancy.

Deadline for submission of an application is Friday, April 1, 2016.

Chief Justice Rita B. Garman and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the appointment of Quincy attorney Amy C. Lannerd as a Circuit Judge in the Eighth Judicial Circuit.

Ms. Lannerd was appointed Wednesday to fill the at-large vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William O. Mays, Jr. Her appointment takes effect April 12, 2016, and terminates December 3, 2018, when the position is filled by the 2018 General Election.
