Robert G. Gibson was sworn in on Monday as a Circuit Court Judge for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court in Wheaton. He will assume his duties on Aug. 2. Mr. Gibson will be assigned to the Chancery Division where his call will consist of Forcible Entries, non-commercial foreclosures and other matters as assigned. Mr. Gibson graduated from the University of Illinois Law School in 1983. He was a partner with the law firm of Dommermuth, Brestal, Cobine and West for 27 years.

He is featured in a video on the website, Illinois Pro Bono. Jenkins joined the personal injury law firm of Corboy & Demetrio in 2008. Before returning to the firm where he clerked while attending law school, Matt practiced plaintiffs’ civil rights law at Loevy & Loevy in Chicago. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2007 from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was recognized for both his academic achievements and his commitment to public service. In 2005, the law school honored Matt’s personal dedication to public service by naming him a Public Interest Law Initiative Scholar. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, where he currently serves as co-chairman of its Civil Rights and Criminal Law Committee, and Illinois State Bar Association, where he is an investigator on the Judicial Evaluation Committee.

Judge Murray succeeds the Hon. La Quietta J. Hardy-Campbell. The Council awarded Legend Scholarships to Jason Allen of John Marshall Law School and Rebekah Childers of the University of Illinois School of Law. Legacy Scholarships were awarded to Carla Sherieves of John Marshall and Tamara Rogers-Grant of Loyola University School of Law. John Marshall's Calvin Townsend received the Role Model Scholarship.

Gardner, a partner in the firm’s litigation practice, will become the new Dean of Students at the University of Chicago Law School. Ms. Gardner joined Ungaretti & Harris in 2008 as a lateral associate, and became a partner in 2009. While at Ungaretti, she focused on commercial and intellectual property litigation. “I will always be grateful to Ungaretti & Harris for providing me with the opportunity to gain hands-on litigation experience,” Ms. Gardner said. “I'm excited to take on this new challenge and return to the University of Chicago Law School as the Dean of Students. I look forward to drawing on my experiences at the firm as I counsel students and work to ensure they have the best possible law school experience.” Ms. Gardner is a 2010 recipient of a Marshall Memorial Fellowship. She was one of only 54 individuals selected nationwide for this prestigious fellowship. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School.
