Marcia M. Meis, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced today that the Tenth Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Caryn J. Kamp as associate judge of the Tenth Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Kamp received her undergraduate degree in 2003 from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Columbia, Missouri, and her Juris Doctor in 2006 from Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Kamp is currently affiliated with Kamp Law Office, Ltd. in Peoria, Illinois and Peoria County Public Defender’s Office in Peoria, Illinois.

The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Robert C. Marsaglia of Morris to serve as a Commissioner of the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) for a term beginning on January 1, 2025, and expiring on December 31, 2027. The ARDC is the Supreme Court agency that oversees lawyer licensing and investigates allegations of lawyer wrongdoing in Illinois.

The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC) announced today that the Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine’s Center for Rural Health and Social Service Development (CRHSSD) has recently awarded $45,000 to rural drug courts in Illinois. Five rural counties including Pike, Williamson, Clinton, Marion, and Richland will receive funds to enhance existing programs and establish new ones in areas without these critical resources.

Justice P. Scott Neville and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the appointment of Linda Sackey as an At-Large Circuit Judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Ms. Sackey is being appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William H. Hooks on July 5, 2024. Ms. Sackey’s appointment is effective January 24, 2025, and will conclude on December 7, 2026.

Justice Mary K. O’Brien and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced that Christina Soohee Kye has been appointed as a Circuit Judge in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, Fourth Subcircuit.
Ms. Kye is being appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Karen M. Wilson. Ms. Kye’s appointment is effective December 16, 2024, and will expire on Dec. 7, 2026.

Justice David K. Overstreet of the Supreme Court of Illinois has begun an application process for two resident circuit judge vacancies in the 2nd Judicial Circuit in Wayne and Edwards counties.
A vacancy for Resident Circuit Judge, Wayne County, was created by the resignation of Judge Michael J. Molt, effective November 30, 2024. A vacancy for Resident Circuit Judge, Edwards County, was created by the death of Judge Michael J. Valentine on November 5, 2024. Appointment to both vacancies go through December 7, 2026, following the 2026 November general election.
