ISBA President Umberto S. Davi served as keynote speaker at the Lake County Bar Association's Pro Bono Award Luncheon on Sept. 22 in Waukegan. This annual event is hosted by the LCBA's Community Outreach Committee, which is chaired by the ISBA Board member Hon. Elizabeth M. Rochford. Lucy Dorenfeld was recognized with the 2015 Wayne B. Flanigan Award and Hans Stucki received the 2015 Volunteer Lawyer Award. -

The Illinois Law & Leadership Institute ("ILLI") is a legal immersion program for high school students of diverse backgrounds, with a curriculum that includes fun and educational activities centered on the legal profession. The program, which is a joint venture between the Illinois State Bar Association and Southern Illinois University School of Law, ran from July 26 - August 1 in Carbondale with a combination of classroom lectures, logic and critical thinking exercises, writing and oral advocacy instruction, guest speakers, and field trips to law firms and the U.S.
