The 2025 National High School Mock Trial Championship was held in Phoenix, Arizona from May 7-10, 2025. The Mock Trial Championship is an annual competition that welcomes thousands of students from many schools across the nation and from places such as South Korea, the Northern Mariana Islands, and other U.S. territories to represent their state/territory in the national competition. This year, 48 teams competed in the competition, including College Preparatory School of America, based in Lombard, Illinois.

Justice Joy V. Cunningham and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the appointment of Daniel Naranjo as a judge in the Thirteenth Subcircuit of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Mr. Naranjo is being appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Shannon P. O’Malley. Mr. Naranjo's appointment is effective June 5, 2025, and will conclude on December 7, 2026.
