The Section Council reviewed 51 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- Senate Bill 3777 amends the Illinois Human Rights Act by updating certain definitions and adding new provisions related to discrimination.
- House Bill 5284 creates the Illinois Menopause Equity and Care Act to address menopause‑related health care and employment matters. It includes provisions for public education, provider training, and insurance coverage for menopause‑related care, and updates certain definitions and employment‑related provisions within existing law.
