The 42nd Annual Illinois State Bar Association High School Mock Trial Invitational took place on March 15-16, 2025, at the A. Lincoln Commons at Lincoln Land Community College’s Main Campus, 2465 Poorman Drive, Springfield. Fifty high schools throughout Illinois participated.
First place went to College Preparatory School of America from Lombard, who also received the Donna E. Schechter Memorial Law Test Award.
Second place went to Timothy Christian High School from Elmhurst, and Normal West High School received third place.

Marcia M. Meis, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced today that the Tenth Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Caryn J. Kamp as associate judge of the Tenth Judicial Circuit.
Ms. Kamp received her undergraduate degree in 2003 from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Columbia, Missouri, and her Juris Doctor in 2006 from Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Kamp is currently affiliated with Kamp Law Office, Ltd. in Peoria, Illinois and Peoria County Public Defender’s Office in Peoria, Illinois.

The Judicial Conference of the United States has authorized the appointment of a full-time United States magistrate judge for the Central District of Illinois at Springfield. The annual salary is $223,836. The eight-year term begins upon appointment. A court’s essential function is to dispense justice. A community’s belief that a court dispenses justice is heightened when the court reflects the community’s racial, ethnic, and gender diversity.
