ISBA Mutual Chair Paula Holderman and President/CEO Jeff Strand congratulate the two surviving ISBA Mutual “founders,” Richard L. Thies, of Urbana, and Donald C. Schiller, of Chicago, on the 30th anniversary of the incorporation of the company. The third “founder,” Jerome Mirza, died in 2007. All three were ISBA presidents. ISBA Mutual has grown to nearly 7,700 insured lawyers and $80 million in admitted assets.

Ronald Mervin Gonsky, 82, died Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was born June 20, 1936.
The son of Janet (Klinsky) and Henry, Ronald was born on June 20, 1936 on the west side of Chicago, where he was raised with his brother, Paul, in a close extended family. He became the first college and law school graduate of his family. After a stint in the national guard, Ron spent 18 months traveling in Europe, North Africa, and Russia before starting his law office in Chicago.

Orland Park Police Chief Timothy McCarthy received the ISBA Law Enforcement Award on July 2 during an Orland Park Village Board of Trustees meeting. ISBA President James McCluskey and ISBA President Elect David Sosin presented the award.
The ISBA Law Enforcement Award was created to recognize sworn law enforcement officers for conduct that promotes justice and to distinguish those individuals whose service to the public brings honor and respect to the entire criminal justice system. It recognizes those who excel in law enforcement.

Wenger has served as president of both the American Association of Law Libraries its Chicago chapter. She has also served the profession as chair of the Board of Directors of the Legal Information Preservation Alliance, a consortium of law libraries and legal professionals who strive to ensure preservation of legal materials.

Coblentz was born on May 2, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wis., and grew up in Rockford, Ill. He earned his bachelor's degree from University of Illinois in 1975 and his law degree from Loyola University in 1978. -

ISBA President James McCluskey today was named an associate judge of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit.
McCluskey, a founding member of the law firm Momkus McCluskey, LLC, in Lisle, is a commercial litigator who has handled 60 jury trials and built one of DuPage County’s largest law firms.
Long active in the ISBA, he is a member of the Board of Governors and previously served as a member of the Assembly and was chairman of its Agenda Committee. He has served on the ISBA Civil Practice & Procedure Section Council and its Allerton House Committee.
