Chuhak & Tecson, P.C., announced the addition of Leynee A. Cruz, an experienced probate and guardianship administration and litigation attorney, as an associate.
Cruz’s practice includes representing individual guardians and financial institutions in adult and minor guardianships. She also represents clients in trust and estate administration matters.
She is often appointed as Guardian Ad Litem by Cook County Probate Division judges to assist them in adult and minor guardianship matters. A native Spanish speaker licensed in Florida and Illinois, Cruz has worked alongside attorneys in Havana, Cuba, representing Cuban national beneficiaries and is currently the president-elect of the Hispanic Lawyer’s Association of Illinois.

Thomas Arden Tyler Jr., 67, died Monday, July 23, 2018. He was born Oct. 3, 1950.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Jacqueline (DiVecchio) Tyler; his two beloved sons, Zachary Thomas Tyler and Jacob Grant Tyler; his sisters-in-law, Janet DiVecchio and Judith (James) Ramsay; niece and nephews, Jamie (Ric Horejs) Ramsay, Jason (Julie) Ramsay, and David Frogge; and his faithful fourlegged dachshunds, Loki, Kaiser and Heidi; and his cat, MooMoo.
He is also survived by one uncle, Richard (Dorothy) Tyler; and numerous cousins.

Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C. announced today the firm has moved Chicago office locations from 22 West Washington Street, Suite 1600, to a new headquarters located a few blocks away at 161 North Clark Street, Suite 4700.
The move more than doubles the firm’s previous office footprint of 8,800 square feet to more than 18,000 square feet.

The Cook County Circuit Court on June 20 issued an order finding that the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) cannot prosecute Illinois property tax attorneys on charges they offered appraisal services without a proper state license when they argue valuations before tax assessment appeal tribunals.
The deadline for the state to file an appeal was July 20. No appeal was filed.

The Illinois Bar Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Illinois State Bar Association, will hold its 20th annual black-tie Gala fundraiser on Friday, October 19, at the Four Seasons Hotel, 120 E. Delaware Place, Chicago.
During the event, Tyrone C. Fahner, a partner at Mayer Brown, will receive the foundation’s 2018 Distinguished Award for Excellence. Fahner is a former Illinois attorney general and has served as director of the Illinois Department of Law Enforcement and as an assistant United States attorney.
